Is there an option to hire your pallet racking / pallet jacks / container ramps?

Investing in your own bespoke shelving systems may be more beneficial. However, if it is a short term rental of a pallet jack, hand jack or electric jack, we can assist your business. Similarly we can help with the hire of a container ramp. Please get in contact for more information.
Who Can Audit and Inspect My Racking?
Currently, due to Australian standards, the manufacturer of the warehouse storage shelving systems must provide the weight loadings and performance criteria. Anyone is allowed to inspect the racking system if there is suspected damage, wear or tear. It is mandatory to have your racking systems inspected annually in order to conform to the latest standards.
Erect-A-Rack can provide an auditing service for all your warehouse storage solutions.
How much does used pallet racking cost?

Yes you can discuss discounts with us as we only provide price on application (POA). There may not be a hefty discount if you’re only looking for a few bays as we try to keep our prices low generally. Other questions
Can I visit your warehouse?
Yes, of course. If you’re thinking of having racking and shelving installed in your premises then visiting our showroom could be very helpful in regards to the decision making process. Chatting to our warehouse racking and industrial shelving experts will also assist you in choosing the right racking system for your business or home. Do you offer delivery options?
Our shelving is located in Melbourne, Victoria, but we deliver racking and shelving nationwide. We use a very reliable freight company that has some of the most competitive delivery costs for interstate transport rates.
Depending on where you need your warehouse shelving delivered to in Australia, you may find that shipping is a more effective mode of transport for your products from Erect-A-Rack in Victoria. For smaller, more compact orders, same day delivery is available within Melbourne and 1-2 days expected time on delivery to the East Coast of Australia. Larger orders can usually be delivered within 2-3 business days.
All delivery charges are in addition to the cost of your industrial shelving price.
Are Different Brands Compatible?
Unfortunately not. Using different brands of racking means that the systems won’t be compatible with each other. Your warehouse racking system must be the same brand in order to be fully certified. If Australian standards cannot be met, this means your pallet racking system will not be safe or covered under your company’s insurance.
If Second Hand Is Cheaper, Why Should I Buy New?
If you are thinking of buying second hand racking you should know the engineering weight loads you can use. This could cause a racking collapse, and put you through a huge amount of grief. Secondly, it’s your business and you are liable… why would you risk second hand materials, that often can’t be certified?
Are we required to have safety checks?
Yes absolutely. Racking Standard AS4084-2012 requires that your warehouse pallet racking system is checked on a regular basis. This needs to be carried out in order to be covered under warranty and also to make sure that your shelving units comply with the strict safety standards we have here in Australia. Safety checks must occur and be reported on at least once every 12 months.
Can We do a Safety Check ourselves?

We recommend that you get independent checks in case you have missed something. Please get in touch with the team at Erect-A-Rack for more information and a guide to checking your racking yourself.
Can you look after my ongoing maintenance and safety checks?

Can we install pallet racking ourselves?
The simple answer to this is yes, except if you’re located in Queensland where a QBCC License is required. For the rest of Australia we can provide you with a useful step-by-step guide that will help you to install your warehouse pallet racking system with ease. For jobs that are a larger scale and more complex, we recommend you get professional assistance.
What do I need to do to prepare for an install?
Generally speaking, you will need to have the location of the area clean and tidy in order to be able to work efficiently and safely. The entrance to the warehouse space must be clear and have the area measured and marked out so that no mistakes can made. It is also best to have your safety checklist handy and your team of technicians prepped.
What if my warehouse floor isn't level?
At Erect-A-Rack we have small yet heavy duty and hardwearing shims available to even the floor out before you start building your warehouse pallet racking system. Even if your floor isn’t entirely level, this process will give you a level surface to work with.
I am moving warehouse. Can you guys relocate our pallet racking / shelving to our new site?
In short, yes we can and we take on these types of jobs all the time. Like any relocation job, we will need to see exactly what is involved and how long it will take us. We can give you a formal quote on the job once an inspection is done and scope is agreed on.
Can you do different powder coat colours?
This can be a little difficult given that for small jobs we use the items that we have manufactured already. For larger jobs around the $20,000 mark, we can arrange the factory to change the colour of the paint. Please keep in mind that this is very time consuming and can delay your delivery. Alternatively we can point you in the right direction of some great powder coaters.
